When I was a child my father often told me: "Why do we buy something if we can build or make it?". Since that time such a phrase has a great influence on me and it is sitting in my subconscious mind and makes me doing so different things time to time!

Now I am adult and I train my subconscious mind to do at least practical things for me and my family.

The most popular topic from my project list might be a home theater PC (HTPC). After experimenting with different equipment and software I came with a "stable" configuration which is getting old with each day but it works. I suppose it might be useful for others to read more about my "experiments" in this area and I would like to share my knowledge with you in order to save your time and money.

Another topic is "Linux desktop" project. Working with MS solutions for ages, I opened for myself a completely new horizon with Ubuntu and OpenSUSE. I plan to publish some information about my experience working with OpenSource and Linux solutions here too.

There are several things on my table from software development and smart house areas but I should think about them a bit more before anouncing here anything.
