Well, almost each new week I experimenting with new configuration in order to get working the THING – OpenERP system. This time, I tried to use OpenERP Server from Camp2Camp on Kubuntu 11.10.

It is not so clear, how you are to use webkit. But after watching several demos, I did customize my BVR report and here you can see step-by-step instruction how you can do the same for your needs.

Recently, doing financial report, I faced with the problem that OpenERP doesn’t have good explanation of for what functionality was created. For example, in accounting, there are so many unclear things that sometimes it is better to jump back on some proprietary accounting software rather than keep trying to do simple things with OpenERP.

Here I would like to share one of such thinks which is named in the title.

The article contains a short list of those modules which one need to install on newly setup server (linux or windows) and restored database from different production environment. It looks like one need to setup several modules in order to let them work properly all together.

account_invoice table migration

This is the table, I started the migration for. I had many records as invoices and I need to have them in my new system. The problem with them is each invoice has many lines where product and services with price were specified along with taxes and analytic accounts, not to mention links with partners (customers) and their addresses. So, this is the central table for all my migration.
